What are Giclée Prints?Giclée Prints, (pronounced "zhee-clay") are very high quality, fine art prints that are made using special archival inks and print media. The result is a print that is far superior both in color and resolution as well as in longevity. Typically most regular prints are not very stable and will fade when subjected to light. However, Giclée prints use pigmented ink which is rated to last well over 100 years without fading as opposed to dye base ink which fades rather quickly. Also the Giclee process involves an extremely tiny ink droplet which is sprayed on, hence the name Giclée which comes from the French word, "gicleur" meaning sprayer or atomizer. The tiny droplets of ink produce very high resolution and fine gradation of color. The result is a print that is so faithful to the original that people often remark our Giclée prints look like originals.
